    Attendees of WTM Africa may require a visa to visit South Africa. Please check with your local South African Embassy or visit the Department for Home Affairs South Africa website on whether you require a visa for your trip to WTM Africa.

    New visa / entry regulations

    There has been much in the news recently regarding the new regulations for entry into South Africa. Thebe Reed is monitoring all the info as closely as possible, but in order to ensure that you are kept informed we recommend you visit www.southafrica.info on a regular basis in order to stay abreast of all the changes.

  • DHA has confirmed during a media briefing on February 5 that the short-term recommended changes to the immigration regulations, which came into effect in June 2014, have been completed.

    Ebola Virus Information

    Passengers are urged not to panic, and merely to enquire with reliable sources before confirming their travel plans. There are 47 countries in continental Africa and currently the WHO are reporting only four that have been affected. Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. At present, no cases have been confirmed anywhere else in the world outside these four countries. The WHO have also shared information on the low-risk of Ebola transmission in air travel.

    Yellow Fever Information

    Yellow Fever is a viral illness for which there is no cure, but there is an effective vaccine which will prevent it. It is transmitted by a day-time biting mosquito. The Yellow Fever virus continuously lurks in the background in the forests and jungles of Africa, Central and South America.
