Marine and terrestrial wildlife remain a major draw for tourists to Africa and with rising living standards domestic tourism to parks and sanctuaries is increasing too. National parks and protected areas are under increasing pressure for development and from tourism. It is important that policy and practice in wildlife and tourism are evidence-based. This panel will focus on issues of animal and human welfare in wildlife tourism.
